The Research & Treatment work group facilitates the advocacy work of the Collaborative. Its goals are as follows: To define the needs of HIV-positive women as they pertain to research and treatment, make recommendations to the Collaborative in these areas and fuel the Policy committee's work, to support HIV researchers who focus on female-specific and female-supportive research and clinical trials (i.e. microbicides, gender analysis), interface with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to build a relationship that stimulates their policy for better initiatives in women's health programs and research, and to lead the Collaborative in coordinating such activities.
